A "6 x 4" Meme

RJ tagged me for this meme. I am calling it a "6 x 4" meme because for each of its six questions, the blogger is asked to provide four answers. Anyway, here are the meme's rules:

Click copy/paste, type in your answers and tag four people in your lists! Don’t forget to change my answers to the questions with that of yours.

1. Four places I go to, over and over:

Outside of work, these are the places I go to to unwind:

* Hoboken, NJ - Frank Sinatra's birthplace, the city sits right across the Hudson River from Manhattan. One can go for a morning or evening stroll along Frank Sinatra Drive by the Hudson River where one is given a great view of the Manhattan skyline.
* My basement - It's the only place in my house that stays cool throughout the summer. This is where I get to relax to either watch my DVDs or play my CDs.
* Atlantic City, NJ - Although I don't really gamble, I love going to this place for the entertainment it provides. Plus, the city is by the shores of the Atlantic Ocean and has a long boardwalk one can take a leasurely stroll on. This was an activity I used to enjoy doing with my late uncle. However, now that he's gone, my visits to this place will certainly become quite rare.
* Philippines - As RJ said on his blog, I'll keep going to the above mentioned places until I come home.

2. Four people who e-mail me regularly:

* Former co-workers from my first job
* Former high school and college classmates
* Con men who claim to be from either Nigeria or Russia who want to gain access to my bank account
* Headhunters - There are basically two kinds: Those legitimate ones who provide me with job leads either within or outside of my current industry and ones who offer to perform a certain "job" for me. :D

3. Four of my favorite places to eat:

* Crown Palace (Marlboro, NJ) - This restaurant is in my opinion has the best Chinese dimsum and provides the most professional service of any Chinese restaurant within the Central NJ area.
* Amber's for their Pancit Malabon - Pure pancit Malabon heaven. :D
* Burger King - I love the Whopper.
* GoodAh - for their longsilog and for sentimental reasons. (However, Tapa King might soon nudge GoodAh from my list of four favorite places. We shall see. Hehehe)

4. Four places i’d rather be:

* Anywhere with my love
* Manila
* Makati
* California

5. Four TV shows I could watch over and over:

* Two And a Half Men
* Twilight Zone (reruns on the Sci-Fi Channel)
* Saturday Night Live
* Three's Company (whenever reruns of this show that starred the late John Ritter are shown on American cable tv channels)

As you can see from the shows I listed above, except for the Twilight Zone whose episodes focus on the bizarre and mysterious, I am very partial towards comedy shows whenever I sit in front of the tv. They provide me with a break from the stresses of daily life.

6. Four people I think will respond:

* Mari
* Nyl
* Aline
* Neuroticsister

Ladies, please don't let me down. Naks! Hahaha Thanks in advance.

Ay how I miss Rod Serling's The Twilight Zone. I wish they can still show the reruns of the episodes that I use to watch when I was a kid, but that's like reaching for the moon, especially in these parts.

Pards, favor lang, can you check for the availability of the show's complete season on DVD? My pinsans in the US of A are either too busy or too darn lazy to look for them. Just email me the price and freight charges

And while you're at it, baka pwede mo na ring isama yug "Star Trek: Voyager" series, hehe.

Have a great weekend, pards. :-)

Rudy,

TZ was a great show. I checked Amazon.com's site and you can buy the complete set on DVD for $186.99. This has been marked down from its original price of $299.99.

With Amazon's "Expedited International Shipping" (averages 5-9 business days), shipping charges will cost you an additional $17.98 for a total of $204.97. The shipping charge is based on my sister's address in Metro Manila so I'm assuming the difference from your address, if any, would be minimal.

The Star Trek Voyager series (complete season), on the other hand, sells on Amazon for $334.99 down from its original price of $529.98. Estimated total shipping charges for both items is $21.97. Thus if you get both, your total would amount to $543.95. ($186.99 + $334.99 + $21.97)

I hope this info helps.

Abaniko,

True. I love the unexpected twists in its stories. The settings are mostly in sparsely populated small towns which adds to the air of mystery. :)

Panaderos said...

Photo Cache,

We should compare lists of Nigerian names to see if we have any "mutual friends" there. Hahaha

Panaderos said...

Neuroticsister,

It's been quite a while. More than 10 years in fact. Thanks for doing the tag! :)

Panaderos said...

Nyl,

Thank you, Fren! I look forward to your responses. Thanks ulit. :)

Blogusvox,

I have to see that Johnny Bravo episode. :) I love that show. Rod Serling, its creator, was such a great and imaginative storyteller.

The X-Files was definitely a series that was inspired by the Twilight Zone.

Mari,

Yes, he was born and raised in Hoboken, NJ. It's a small city but quite vibrant. It's the type of place where one doesn't really need a car to get around. Restaurants, hospitals, churches, supermarkets, and even the subway station are all within walking distance. So convenient.

Sleep well. :-*

Fingertalks,

Wow! Congratulations! That's great news. I'm so happy for you and your hubby. Please do take special care of yourself in the coming months. Please keep me posted. I'm excited! :)

In your condition, you need to maintain a sunny disposition. Comedy shows will certainly help. Take care. :)

Have been to Vegas and Reno but not to Atlantic City. Now you remind me that I have to visit the place :)

I see Three's COmpany reruns every now and then on TV and boy, John Ritter was very funny and I still get a good laugh watching hehe :)

Liquid said...

Just poppin' in to say I missed your blog. I'll be back to read and catch up. I always look forward to landing here!

Panaderos said...

BW,

Reno is a place I've never been to. I'll see if I can stop by that place one of these days.

I love Three's Company. I never tire of watching its episodes. One could simply die laughing especially at the one-liners and John Ritter's physical comedy. Too bad he died early.

Panaderos said...

Hi Liquid,

Hello! How have you been, my friend? I hope things have been well with you. I'm so glad to see you back! Take care. :)

rolly said...

Oooh, three's company! PAborito ko rin yun lalo na nung si Suzanne Somers at the Ropers pa ang landowner nila. That show was hilarious. Used to wait for it every Sunday. Okay naman kasi ang una e as hilarious as well. The Benny Hill Show.

sweet naman anywhere with my love!

neuroticsister said...

more than ten years????? that's like a lifetime!!!! you should come and visit the motherland... though, don't bother to look at the economic status... just enjoy being home and the beauty of our precious land!!!:-)

Panaderos said...

Rolly,

I love the Benny Hill show too. Pinapanood ko din siya kapag pinapalabas dito. Hindi rin ako nagsasawang panoorin ang Three's Company. The jokes are timeless and John Ritter's physical comedy was simply great. Too bad that the stars of both shows (Benny Hill and John Ritter) are now gone.

Panaderos said...

Prinsesamusang,

Thanks. :)

Panaderos said...

Neuroticsister,

I was there a few months ago. Unfortunately, travel to our country is not cheap. If it was, I'd be there all the time. :)

i always get emails from Nigerians. tingin nila yata, e, tanga ang lahat ng pinadadalhan. the first time i received that kind of letter, sinagot ko pa ng "Are you nuts?" ha ha

monaco said...

Ha ha ha. I also receive regular emails from headhunters, the latter kind.

Panaderos said...

Bing,

Pinatulan mo pa, ha? LOL! Nakakainis na iyong mga emails nila. Nuisance talaga. Even if you try marking them as Spam to block them out, bale wala pa rin. Hay.

Panaderos said...

Mon,

Hehehe There's quite a of those. :)
